Eat Garlic! Garlic Basil Hummus Recipe

My son loves hummus and I had some basil we picked that was going to go bad...TADA! Who doesn’t love to snack on hummus. However the regular traditional hummus does get a bit boring.

I thought instead of making Pesto Sauce with the leftover basil, why not add beans and make hummus!

Recipe:

Makes approximately 2 cups

15oz canned garbanzo beans, 1/2 drained

2 cups fresh basil

Juice of 1/2 lime

4 medium cloves garlic, peeled

salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste

2 Tablespoon olive oil

Place all ingredients in food processor and process until pureed.

Enjoy with your favorite gluten free crackers, tortillas, chips or I used it as a salad dressing atop my salad today for lunch. For dinner tonight, we plan to eat it as a dip for the chicken, Texas Style Black Bean tacos!
